Design & Drafting:
From preliminary design to completed working drawings for your addition, custom residence, office TI, Church, etc.
Working drawings (the plans) are prepared to satisfy building codes and are fully engineered per structural and energy requirements. Civil engineering (i.e. surveying and grading plans) and soils engineering are accomplished by another professional. Recommendations may be found on my References page.
Fee for services is usually a fixed fee based on a square footage of your project (building area x $’s per/SF Construction Costs = fixed fee), but also may vary based upon type or complexity of project.
First meeting is at no charge within 1-hr travel time. An agreement is presented to you after our meeting and our reviewing the proposed project.
Billing is broken down in increments.
Consulting:
If you are in the preliminary stages of evaluating the potential of your project or have an architect and want someone to assist you in evaluating fees, review preliminary designs presented you or help in evaluating the feasibility of your project, we can assist you.
For the novice, architectural drawings and terminology are like a foreign language. Not understanding them can lead to mistaken assumptions or cause confusion and frustration, resulting in lost time and money. You might say that we act as your translator & guide in explaining what you are looking at and giving you understanding of terms and processes.
FEE is calculated per an hourly rate.
Travel time and expenses added based on local.
Billing is sent on a per month bases or when consulting completed.
Special note to churches
For churches I have an added advantage of perspective and insight. Besides my professional experience as a Building Designer I also pastor which affords me the ability to relate to and understand the needs of churches from the inside. Design needs and budget issues are a factor in any job but for the church a spiritual perspective related to the particular vision and purpose of a church is of great benefit. My years as a pastor has given me a wider perspective and relationship in the design of church facilities.
